OK, so last week we had the great pleasure of listening to our fellow Rotarian Michael O'Brien tell us about the Rotarian Behind the Badge.  And to say that Michael's talk was anything less than interesting and heartfelt would be an understatement and we certainly got a really good insight in to our lovely Irishman.

OK, so now I have the unenviable task to inform you all that the elusive Joker was found last week by what is now a very unpopular Alan Chalmers, well done Alan we are all very jealous.

On Friday the Magical Getaway Foundation held their inaugural Forum and the Rotary Club of Pakenham was well represented as can be seen below.

So on Sunday we had our day at the Car MegaMart Car Chow and the efforts of those that turned up to assist on the day was definitely appreciated.  We managed to complete our duties without any hassles and surprisingly the event organisers decided that the gates did not need to be manned after about 2:30pm so we were all able to get away much sooner that expected.  I would like to make special mention of a few people, Alan Chalmers and John Antonie who both started at 8:30 am and worked with me through until 2:00 pm and also Tim Ahern who did the first shift from 8:30 am until 11:00am and then came back at 2:00pm to do a further stint.  So to those three a very big thank you.   I would also like to make mention of Geoff Janssen who brought along a companion to help out and to Lyn Bunce who did the right thing and sent along husband Noel, and that is right Lyn stayed at home.  I could not close on this subject with out mentioning the fact that my wife turned up at about 12:30 pm to help and stayed until the end, but we must also mention Ian Wake who turned up at his designated 2:00pm time slot to be sent home shortly after arriving.   Once again thanks to all those who helped out on the day.
